Zion Market Relocating Nearby with More Features

Zion Market , a Korean grocery store located in Kearny Mesa , is getting ready to relocate nearby to 8330 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard later this year.

The grocery store has served the area for more than 11 years, but in Summer 2024 , the company plans to close the space and relocate less than a mile away, first reported by Eater San Diego . Company owners expect the transition to be seamless, with an immediate reopening planned. Zion Market will sit within a massive restaurant complex featuring ten different eateries with multiple outdoor seating areas that offer plenty of shade and lawn games.

Like the original, Paris Baguette will be found in the new 50,000-square-foot market, but Zion Market’s interior food court will not. Instead, the new dining complex will feature various restaurants, including the Taiwanese chain Bafang Dumpling and doughnut shop Dot + Dough. Other concepts expected to join the still-developing roster include a Chinese hot pot and barbecue restaurant, a Vietnamese coffee shop, a Japanese ramen concept, and a sandwich spot.

On top of being in a beautiful new dining complex, Zion Market plans to add some of its own amenities to its new location, which will open later as part of the last phase of the ambitious Kearny Mesa project. On top of the market will sit a 25,000-square-foot food hall designed by Michael Soriano (Realm of the 52 Remedies, Queenstown) and James Denton Design . The space will have a speakeasy-style cocktail bar and more than ten food stalls serving different international cuisines that are not limited to Asian. There is no exact opening date for the rooftop food hall.
