Dave’s Hot Chicken Continues to Grow Throughout San Diego

As franchise owners prepare to open San Diego’s sixth Dave’s Hot Chicken in the area, the company has announced new areas are being scouted.

What Now San Diego previously reported on the company’s makings its way to Mission Valley, moving into the former home of Greenspot Salad Company. While local franchise partners Lawrence Kourie , Deryl Pangelinan , and Loralin Acoba are getting ready to open the company’s sixth area location on March 1 at 2075 Camino De La Reina, the group is already scouting its next location, according to San Diego Magazine , with Chula Vista, Otay Lakes, and National City noted as possible locations.

Once the new Mission Valley site opens, the trio will focus on finding the next site for the newest Dave’s Hot Chicken. There isn’t an exact timeline for these new upcoming locations, but they will likely be towards the end of the year, possibly early 2025 . The group has already opened the concept in Pacific Beach, El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, and Mira Mesa. By the end of this expansion plan, Dave’s Hot Chicken expects to have at least 12 locations under this franchise team.

The trio, which includes some of the company’s original franchisees, says they are expanding strategically to maintain the spirit of Dave’s Hot Chicken. Despite slowly growing its presence in San Diego, Dave’s Hot Chicken recently signed a new franchise agreement with the brand’s original franchisees, which includes Pangelinan and Kourie, to open 12 locations within several counties in the state of Virginia.
