A new California lifestyle-inspired restaurant, Pacific Beach Hideaway , is getting ready to debut in Pacific Beach at 4474 Mission Boulevard .

Los Angeles-based Baja Sharkeez Restaurant Group took over the former home of the Fat Fish Cantina Grill in 2022 but never revealed what it would replace it with. Now, more details have been released, and the new restaurant will feature interior and outdoor open-air bars, several classic arcade games, and a menu created by corporate chef Raymond Alvarez , according to SanDiegoVille . Pacific Beach Hideaway is expected to open in Summer 2024 .

When the new 5,500-square-foot restaurant opens in a few months, customers can expect California-inspired spins on American classics, plus a variety of cocktails. The food menu will consist of a variety of shareable bar bites, wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, and burgers, as well as more sophisticated options, such as Agua Chile Halibut Sashimi and the 12-Hour Braised Short Rib. The restaurant will also serve a weekend brunch. To drink, Pacific Beach Hideaway will feature a full-service bar featuring a variety of handcrafted cocktails, shareable “Social Bowls,” spirits, wine, and 30 local brews on tap.

Baja Sharkeez Restaurant Group is no stranger to operating successful concepts throughout Southern California. The Los Angeles-based company has opened several restaurants in the past three decades, including Palmilla in Hermosa Beach, Sandbar Mexican Restaurant & Tequila Bar in Santa Barbara, Panama Joe’s in Long Beach, Killarney’s Irish Pub in Huntington Beach, Esperanza Cocina de la Playa in Manhattan Beach, and Tower12 at Hermosa Pier. The restaurant group is also responsible for five locations of its namesake concept, Baja Sharkeez.
