LeBron James saw his son drafted Thursday – and by the Lakers, no less – when L.A. picked up Bronny James in the second round of the NBA Draft.

Assuming no issues with either player, LeBron and Bronny James will become the first father-son duo to team up in an NBA game.

That became the big news of the final day of the draft, while San Diego State fans awaited the fate of Jaedon LeDee, who ended up undrafted, along with former Aztec Keshad Johnson.

USA Today reported that Johnson, who transferred to Arizona after SDSU’s trip to the national championship game in 2023, signed a two-way deal with the Miami Heat.

The rundown of the landing spots for undrafted prospects listed LeDee as “T.B.D.,” but other media reports indicated that the Aztec standout, named the winner of the Karl Malone Award for last year’s best power forward, will land with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the NBA Summer League.

The Lakers were widely anticipated to select Bronny, 19, who only worked out with the them and the Phoenix Suns ahead of the draft, which began Wednesday. L.A. made him the 55th overall pick in the draft.

The younger James’ lone season at USC was limited to 25 games with six starts. He missed the first eight games following a procedure to treat a congenital heart defect.

The second round was conducted at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in New York City.

This is the first time the draft was held over two days.

“Based on feedback about the NBA draft format from basketball executives around the league and my own experience in draft rooms, we believe that teams will benefit from being able to regroup between rounds and having additional time to make decisions during the second round,” Joe Dumars, the NBA’s executive vice president and head of basketball operations said in a statement.
