Multiple cars stolen from Mission Valley garage; suspects sought

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities on Tuesday are investigating after multiple car thefts in Mission Valley.

All three thefts occurred in the apartment parking garage at River Front Condominium Rentals on Camino de la Reina, Lt. Daniel Meyer with the San Diego Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.

Two vehicles were first stolen on June 20 shortly after 3 a.m. when the suspects first gained access to a gold 2003 Toyota 4Runner and found a vehicle fob to a white 2023 Toyota Rav4 (CA/9LSW832) parked next to it, according to police.

The latest theft occurred around 3 a.m. again on the morning of June 22 when the same suspects returned to the same condominium parking garage and stole a black 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee (AL/63A55U9), police said.

“The gold Toyota 4Runner has since been recovered in Otay Mesa, however the white Toyota Rav4 and black Jeep Grand Cherokee are still missing,” Meyer said.

One of the suspects was captured on surveillance video and is described as a white or light complexion man, mid 30s, around 170 pounds, with short brown hair and an unkempt beard.

Authorities advise all residents to always lock their vehicles and never leave any keys or valuables inside.
