SAN DIEGO ( Border Report ) — Baja California’s Secretary of Culture has announced the future arrival of a one-of-a-kind virtual reality art exhibit featuring the life and work of Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh.

It’s called “Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience.”

The exhibit will be part of Mexicali’s Art Festival scheduled to begin October 11.

People will have a chance to learn about Van Gogh’s troubled life as they walk through six different halls featuring virtual reality exhibits.

Cost is 450 pesos per person, about $25.

Baja Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda said 10,000 passes will be made available to students or those of low means who wish to see the exhibit.

There will also be 47 different art workshops for young people.

Artwork from regional artists will be on display as well.

The exhibit will remain on exhibit through January 15.

Mexicali is Baja’s capital city located on the border about 120 miles east of Tijuana. It borders the city of Calexico on the California side of the border.
