San Diego State alum Hendrik Jebens, with partner Constantin Frantzen, posted a third straight-set victory at Wimbledon to move on to the quarterfinals in men’s doubles.

They advanced in London, winning 7-6 (7-5). 7-6 (7-3) over another unseeded duo, Lloyd Glasspool and Jean-Julien Rojer in the Round of 16.

Jebens and Frantzen next face No. 9 seeds Neal Skupski – the defending men’s doubles champion who also has won two Wimbledon titles in mixed doubles – and new partner Michael Venus on Wednesday.

They already have dispatched a favored foe, knocking out the second-seeded doubles team of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) Saturday.

Jebens and Frantzen opened their tournament with a win over Pavel Kotov and Cristian Rodriguez, also winning in straight sets.

Jebens, born in Germany, spent three seasons with the SDSU tennis team, through 2016. He made the All-Mountain West singles teams in the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Frantzen played his college tennis at Baylor University.

The last time an Aztec alum made it this far at Wimbledon was 2005, when Alex Waske went to the quarterfinals, SDSU wrote on social media.
