Comic-Con has signed a one year extension to stay in San Diego.

The convention, which this year runs July 24 through the 28th, has signed an extension to stay put through 2026. It's current contract has one year remaining on it. According to the San Diego Union Tribune , the convention is asking the city, tourism leaders and the hotel industry for cheaper room rates in order to sign a longer deal. There is a concern that comic con fans may be priced out of hotels if an arrangement can't be made. Comic-Con Spokesman David Glanzer says the convention isn't looking to leave but, if it's too expensive to stay in town, it's something that may have to be explored.

Comic-Con draws 135-thousand people every year downtown, making it the largest convention in San Diego. After dual writers and actors strikes in Hollywood last year, this year's event is expected to be much more high profile featuring lots of star power.

The schedule for Comic-Con 2024 has been released. You can see it HERE .
