Forward Keshad Johnson and guard Alondes Williams led four Miami Heat summer league players in double figures with 21 points each in California Classic play.

The Heat defeated the Lakers’ summer league team 80-76 Wednesday with Bronny James taking part in his return to action after missing Sunday’s contest due to swelling in his left knee.

Johnson was a starter on the San Diego State team that reached the 2023 national championship game, before opting to play his final year of college basketball at Arizona.

James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James, scored three points in the Lakers’ closing game in the tournament in San Francisco.

He had five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two turnovers in 28:47 seconds. The Lakers (0-3) outscored Miami by eight points when James was on the court.

Williams has played eight NBA games over two seasons, seven of them with Miami in the 2023-24 season. He was selected as the NBA G League’s most improved player for the year.

James, a second-round choice in last month’s NBA draft, played his first game as a Laker on Saturday, scoring four points in a 108-94 loss to the Sacramento Kings’ team in the California Classic.

The Lakers begin play in the NBA Summer League on Friday against the Houston Rockets in Las Vegas. Johnson’s Miami Heat team will play the Celtics Saturday.
