UCSD Tritons Men’s Basketball Team Earns Boardwalk Battle Tournament Invite

The UC San Diego men’s basketball team will participate in the inaugural Boardwalk Battle in Daytona Beach, Florida, this November.

Following its first NCAA Division 1 postseason berth, the Tritons will play three games in the bracketed event, which will be held Nov. 21-23 at Ocean Center. UC San Diego’s first round opponent will be La Salle from the Atlantic 10.

East Carolina, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Stetson, Toledo and UIC will be joining UC San Diego and La Salle in the tournament.

UC San Diego had 20 wins in 2023-24, finishing second in The Big West while also earning the second seed in the Ro College Basketball Invitational. Last year was the Tritons final year of an NCAA-mandated four-year reclassification to Division 1. Beginning this season, UC San Diego is eligible to compete in both The Big West championship as well as the NCAA tournament.

Tickets for the Boardwalk Battle are now on sale through Ticketmaster and can be purchased at the Ocean Center box office on game days. 2024-25 UC San Diego season tickets went on sale earlier this week via Triton Box Office.
