A new all-day farm-to-table restaurant and tapas bar called Between Us is getting ready to debut in North Park , located at 4101 30th St.

The new concept is set to replace the former home of Rip Current Brewing, which closed at the end of last year. This is the latest from Chanchai Ratananon , who owns Thai Time across the street. The business owner has operated the restaurant since 2011 and is now opening Between Us sometime in September 2024 , according to signage on the building, first reported by SanDiegoVille . The restaurant will offer delicious meals and tapas made with fresh ingredients sourced from local farms in Southern California.

“Our commitment to quality is evident in every dish we create, prepared with the utmost care and passion,” Chanchai Ratananon tells SanDiegoVille. “At Between Us, we believe in fostering a close connection between our restaurant and our customers. Our name reflects this philosophy – we aim to create a welcoming space where you can enjoy not only exceptional food but also genuine, friendly service. We strive to make every visit a delightful and accessible experience, bridging the gap between us and our guests. Join us for a meal that feels like it’s shared among friends.”

The new development proves North Park is a neighborhood of constant turnaround, with new restaurants coming in and out, especially on 30th Street. Earlier this year, What Now San Diego reported on the team behind The Friendly opening Ophelia’s Raw Bar in the former home of Gluten Free Baking Company. Other new businesses coming to the area include Mixed Grounds Coffee , opening in North Park’s AMP 30 this fall, and Sisters Pizza , opening a second location in the former home of Sicilian Thing Pizza, which recently closed its doors after 14 years.
