Authorities Monday released the names of a man who was fatally stabbed last week at a Mira Mesa home and the woman who allegedly carried out the deadly assault.

Officers were summoned to a hospital shortly before 3:30 a.m. Friday to investigate the death of Reginald Hancock Jr., 40, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Detectives determined that Hancock allegedly had been knifed by a woman he was dating, 27-year-old Brena Siquiera, at a residence in the 11000 block of Mont Blanc Drive, east of Camino Santa Fe, SDPD homicide Lt. Jud Campbell said.

The “exact events” that led to the alleged slaying, which occurred during an argument between the victim and suspect, remain unclear, the lieutenant said Monday.

Siquiera was booked into county jail on suspicion of murder.
