    SDPD: Woman shot, killed during robbery at Talmadge apartment complex

    SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A woman was shot to death during a robbery at a Talmadge apartment complex Monday night, according to San Diego Police.

    The fatal shooting happened at around 8:45 p.m. in the 4400 block of Euclid Avenue, police said.

    SDPD officials a preliminary investigation by Homicide Unit detectives indicated a man forced his way into an apartment unit and robbed a 59-year-old white male of his wallet at gunpoint.

    However, when a 38-year-old Black female in the apartment tried to stop the robbery, she was shot and killed, according to police.

    A short time later, officers spotted a man running from the area of the scene and detained him for questioning.

    Police later determined the man, who was carrying a firearm, was not the suspect in the fatal shooting. SDPD officials stated the man was booked into San Diego County Jail on a probation violation and weapons charges.

    The suspected gunman in the killing remains at large, according to police. A detailed description of the suspected gunman was not available.
