    Driver Shot in the Head Six Times in Corridor Neighborhood

    A 32-year-old motorist was critically wounded, shot six times in the head while he drove in the Corridor neighborhood, the San Diego Police Department said Wednesday.

    The shooting happened at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday in the 3600 block of Polk Avenue, according to SDPD Officer John Buttle.

    The victim’s vehicle was traveling eastbound on Polk when an unknown suspect shot at the vehicle about 16 times, the officer said. The victim’s vehicle was struck about nine times Buttle said.

    His injuries were considered critical but not life-threatening.

    Sixteen 9mm shell casings were located in the street.

    The suspect was described as wearing a light-colored hoodie and dark pants.

    SDPD Mid-City detectives were conducting an investigation of the shooting.
