Taco Bell is branching out into new areas. And no, it’s not introducing burgers or anything food-related at all.

Taco Bell is opening a retirement community from August 17-18 in San Diego, available exclusively for its rewards members over 21.

The weekend getaway, dubbed “The Cantinas,” isn’t a typical retirement trip. Rather, a July 9 announcement from the food chain stated that it’s an “early retirement community where everyone can live like a retiree.”

According to The Cantinas website, the weekend will consist of painting classes, old-school video games, knitting lessons, golf, tennis, pickleball and of course, plenty of Taco Bell bites.

Described as “senior-inspired recreation and cross-generational activities,” the event promises a “Taco Bell-fueled, sun-soaked experience ... attendees will feel rejuvenated and immersed in a community oasis that celebrates the diverse art of living más.”

There are two options of passes to choose from, in order to experience what Taco Bell claims is a place that, “guests can embrace the laid-back lifestyle of retirees, regardless of age.”

The day pass is $50 per day, and includes access to all of the above activities for you and a guest. The weekend pass is $150 for you and a plus one. It includes overnight accommodation at a location currently not shared with the public, approximately 30 minutes out from the San Diego International Airport.

Unfortunately for those interested in attending, both pass options to The Cantinas have already sold out. The Cantinas website does encourage those interested to still sign up for the Taco Bell rewards program, in case extra giveaways or surprises take place.
