    Man stabbed in Grantville; suspect arrested

    SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man is recovering after being stabbed in the Grantville neighborhood Thursday evening, authorities said.

    The incident unfolded shortly before 5:40 p.m. when the victim was approached by a 31-year-old man in the 4900 block of Waring Road, the San Diego Police Department explained.

    The man reportedly told the victim that he was being followed. When the victim attempted to help him, police said the suspect pulled out a knife. The victim was then stabbed once in the chest and the suspect ran away from the scene.

    Officers arrived on scene and provided aid to the victim until he was transported to a local hospital. The man is reported to be in stable condition.

    The suspect was taken into custody shortly after and a knife was recovered, police said. His identity was not immediately provided.
