SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Thousands of people paraded through downtown San Diego Saturday, taking in the sights and sounds of Comic-Con 2024.

Many brought family and friends to soak in the best part – people watching.

“This is prime real estate right here,” said Parker Galindo.

Galindo and his family head downtown and grab a spot at a local restaurant on 5th Avenue to enjoy all the costumes every year. It’s become a family tradition.

“We’ve taken so many pictures. We’ve seen Spiderman and Lord of the Rings,” said George Galindo.

The Galindo family arrived early Saturday morning hoping to grab a tabletop for food and drinks.

“My brother is the hunter,” added Galindo. “He will find the spot. He says this is the spot, this is it! We waited 30 minutes to get this spot.”

Parents brought their children and grandchildren for a day of awe dropping excitement and creativity.

“We saw Deadpool and Wolverine,” said one onlooker.

“It’s exciting, it’s exciting for sure,” said another Comic Con fan.
