Tony Hawk surprised San Diego native, Tate Carew with his pro model Birdhouse board while out at the 2024 Paris Olympics with an assist from the one and only Mark Gonzales. How legendary is this? First Tom (Schaar), now Tate! The surprises keep coming. Peep the big moment below.

"It’s a good thing that the Olympics are no longer exclusive to amateur athletes because Tate Carew is now [officially] a pro skater," Tony wrote as the caption. "Thanks to Gonz and Tom Schaar for helping with the surprise ce soir. Congrats Tate!"

Of all the ways to get surprised with a pro model, this has to be undeniably at the top of the list. Just the fact that Tony and Gonz are casually hanging out together out there is cool enough (did you see them skating the Park course!?), but having Gonz—and Schaar, Birdhouse's other new pro—be in on the surprise is about as perfect as it gets.

The Birdhouse pro team continues to grow and there's no arguing the fact that the whole crew deserves to be there. Tate's skating speaks for itself and we can't wait to see him go nuts during the Park event. The 2024 Paris Olympics are in full swing, and little moments like this in the meantime are making this already epic event even better.

Congrats, Tate! Well deserved. Kill it out there in Paris.
