Preview: Bonita Vista, Point Loma square off Friday for Division 2 baseball title

Division 2: (3) Bonita Vista (22-10-1) vs. (1) Point Loma (17-18-4)

Preview: Light-hitting teams with great pitching meet for a title. The Barons and Pointers played once this season and the result was a 0-0 tie in 10 innings. Bonita Vista, which has won four straight and is ranked No. 132 in the state, beat Santa Fe Christian twice this week to get to the title game. The Barons' team ERA is 2.14, but the team batting average is .225. Harry Shin leads the team with 17 RBIs, Josh Hughes has 16 and Ismael Castanon has 15. ... Point Loma has a team ERA of 1.69. The staff has allowed just two home runs this season. The Pointers, who have also won four in a row, are ranked No. 63 in the state after beating Maranatha Christian in the semifinals. The Pointers' team batting average is .244. Kai Dickinson leads the team with 19 RBIs, Eli Montgomery has 17 and Branden Keeling checks in with 14.
