    Preview: Division 2, 3 baseball titles will be decided on Saturday at UCSD

    CIF San Diego Section Baseball Championships

    When: Saturday

    Where: UCSD's Triton Field

    Admission: $15 for adults, $9 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at gofan.co./app/school/cifsd. Tickets will be available at the door with credit or debit only. No cash.

    Parking: Parking is available in lots P701 and P702. There is a charge.

    Division 4: (3) Imperial (24-7) vs. (1) University City (26-5), 4 p.m.

    Preview: Imperial beat Monte Vista 6-4 Thursday in an elimination game to earn the right to play for a championship. The Tigers, who have won 16 of the last 17 games, are champions of the Desert League. Angel Barron is the team's big bopper, hitting .309 with 25 RBIs. Luis Gonzalez is hitting .363 with 23 RBIs and nine doubles. Julian Jimenez checks in at .358 with 20 RBIs. Gerardo Hernandez, who is 5-0 with a 1.66 ERA, could get the start. ... University City has won 15 in a row, breezing through the playoffs and outscoring three opponents 20-6. The Centurions are led by Mateo Torres-Chappa, who is hitting .374 with 28 RBIs. Nate Thy, who is hitting .327 with 27 RBIs, and Jack Clark, who checks in at .329 with 22 RBIs are the other big bats. Clark, who is 9-3 with an 0.79 ERA with 114 strikeouts in 62 innings, is in line to get the start.

    Division 3: (7) Mira Mesa (20-11) vs. (1) Valhalla (23-6), 7 p.m.

    Preview: Mira Mesa's last 20-win season was in 2013. The Marauders are 108-140 since then. New coach Mike Bovee, a former Mira Mesa star, has changed the culture in his first year. As a low seed, Mira Mesa had to win four games to get to the championship contest. Nathaniel Widelski is the offensive leader, hitting .458 with 31 RBIs. Danny Underwood has driven in 14 runs and Zeke Samora 13. Julian Valencia, who is 5-2, is in line for the start. ... Valhalla is the hottest team in San Diego, winning 16 in a row. The last loss was 19-0 to Santa Fe Christian on March 25. The Grossmont Valley League champions are hitting .339 as a team. Catcher Mace Wheeler, the son of the coach, is hitting .493 with 28 RBIs. Julian Jerjees has 23 RBIs, while Aidan Treltas and Colton Stinkeoway have driven in 18. ... Stinkeoway, who is 8-0 with a 2.01 ERA, is in line to get the start.
