Major Super Bowl bust-up sparked with San Francisco 49ers fuming over practice field surface and fans fear injuries

THE San Francisco 49ers have been reportedly unhappy with their Super Bowl practice field.
The playing surface was a huge topic of conversation in last year's Super Bowl and it seems the issue is already arising in 2024.
The 49ers are practicing at UNLV after being named the away team for the Super Bowl and are unhappy with the way the field was prepared.
Grass was laid over the turf field at UNLV, but 49ers staffers feel that the grass is too soft.
The field meets NFL, union, and independent standards, but the 49ers prefer to play on a firmer surface according to CBS Sports.
The field has been enough of an issue for the 49ers that they could reportedly move to another field or try to practice at the Chiefs' field when they aren't there.
As the home team, the Chiefs get to practice at the Las Vegas Raiders' facilities which have been used and maintained year round.
"I can tell you after talking to various people from the 49ers they don't seem particular pleased with the practice field," ESPN's Adam Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show.
"The 49ers aren't happy and we haven't heard the last of this.
"There are seams on the practice field and it feels like they're practicing on a sponge surface"
Schefter pointed back to the field surface in the previous year and how it wasn't up to standard, and said the NFL needs to work harder on these conditions.
Players, coaches, and fans couldn't believe the way the grass failed at the Super Bowl in Arizona last year.
“I’m not going to lie, it was the worst field I ever played on,” Eagles pass-rusher Haason Reddick said at the time.
The grass field for last year's Super Bowl was grown for two years and installed at the stadium two weeks before the game.
George Toma, the former groundskeeper who prepped Super Bowl fields for the NFL, claimed the field wasn't properly maintained in the two weeks it was at the stadium.
He claimed NFL field director Ed Mangan watered the field the Wednesday before the game and then never brought it back into the sun.
49ers fans feel like the Super Bowl is already not in their favor starting with the field.
"The @NFL putting the 49ers in a perceived disadvantage is something that SHOULD NOT have happened. UNLV field is not acceptable. The NFL should have addressed this before the Niners arriving," one fan said.
"That is unacceptable. People don’t understand the precision in football and if it is turf. It can’t have this whatsoever. I’m not a Niners fan either. lol," another fan said.

Both tams should take turns; it is an advantage to practice on the game's turf.
