The Warriors' two timelines will come to a head this offseason, as Klay Thompson heads into free agency, and Joe Lacob seeks to get the team out from under the restraints of the luxury tax.

Jonathan Kuminga, meanwhile, will seek to earn a substantial contract extension this offseason. With all that in mind, Willard and Dibs had on ESPN's cap and contract expert, Bobby Marks.

Marks broke down both what he expects Thompson's market to look like, and how much a Kuminga extension would likely cost.

As far as Thompson, Marks is not expecting a robust market. He expects a $25-30 million range in extension talks, but said there are concerns with any offer past two years given his wear and tear.

"If it's not Golden State, then who is it?" Marks said. "It's hard for me to see a team going out and committing three years, $75 million for Klay Thompson."

He said that the Warriors essentially have to choose between Thompson and Andrew Wiggins.

For Kuminga, it looks quite a bit better. The 21-year-old is set for a major pay day, but not quite in the max range.

"Probably what you're looking at in Minnesota with Jaden McDaniels," Marks said. "He got five [years] for $131 [million]. You're probably looking at $30 million per year."

He called it the "fun max," in that it is not the maximum, but it's a bet that Kuminga will continue to improve each year.
