Kerr provides update after Kuminga's expected return delayed

Jonathan Kuminga was widely expected to return Thursday night against the Rockets, in a game that could cement the Warriors' play-in status. Instead, Kuminga will miss a fifth-straight game with knee tendinitis.

Steve Kerr provided that update before Thursday's matchup after Kuminga was downgraded to out.

"He played the day of the Dallas game, scrimmaged, and scrimmaged again this morning," Kerr said. "Just didn't feel quite ready. Training staff said they felt strongly that we should give him another night off. We're hopeful for tomorrow, but we'll see how he feels tomorrow."

Kerr said that his knees were "feeling a lot better," and indicated it was more of a conditioning issue.

Kuminga could return Friday night to face the Mavericks on the second of a back-to-back. The Warriors will have lineup questions to answer when he returns.
