The most consequential move facing the Warriors this offseason is the fate of Klay Thompson. The debate over whether he will stay revolves around whether the Warriors will pay him enough to feel respected, versus a likely more expensive deal with the Orlando Magic.

Mark Medina, who covered the Warriors dynasty, joined the Morning Roast on Friday and gave his view on whether Thompson will stay. He was asked what his bet is on Thompson's future (if he was betting a dollar).

"If I had to bet on it, which, thankfully I don’t, but if it’s a dollar, I’m willing to think that Klay Thompson’s still with the Warriors at a much steeper discount than that max deal that he got," Medina said. "Technically he can go to other teams like Orlando. I think they’re a real contender here. But I think the thing that’s going to hold it back is one, the Warriors, unless they make dramatic moves where they’re suddenly under the second apron, they can’t do a sign-and-trade with Klay.

"But I think the other thing is, both parties will feel like, even with all the imperfections and question marks, let’s figure this out together, and hope that some relative discount will at least make some difference in rounding out the supporting cast. It’s not going to solve everything, but I think that’s ultimately what’s going to happen."

Medina said that Thompson's seamless fit with the Warriors gives them a leg up against any others suitor.

"Where the Warriors have more equity is not just the relationship, but knowing that Klay Thompson has value as an individual player," Medina said. "But he also has value with how he fits into the ecosystem with Steph and Dray."
