The Golden State Warriors were the least successful team when it came to coaches' challenges last season, according to an Axios analysis of NBA data.

Context: Coaches' challenges , which the NBA introduced in the 2019-20 season, allow a team's coaching staff to challenge certain calls by referees during games.

    • Each team gets one challenge per game. If a team's first challenge is successful, it gets one more.

By the numbers: During the regular 2023-24 NBA season, the Warriors challenged 44 calls, getting 31.8% of them overturned, according to NBA challenge data .

    • League-wide, there were 1,282 coaches' challenges and 59.2% of them were successful.
    • The Chicago Bulls were the most successful, with 77.3% of their challenged calls overturned.

What's next: The Warriors are expected to have a busy offseason following its elimination from playoffs contention at the hands of the Sacramento Kings.

    • Keep an especially close eye on the future of shooting guard Klay Thompson , now an unrestricted free agent, whose performance struggled at various points throughout the season.
    • And who knows, maybe we'll be better at challenges next season.
