Free agency is less than a week away, and the fates of Klay Thompson, Chris Paul and others remain up in the air. Will the Warriors let Paul go and make use of roughly $12 million in mid-level exception money? Will they make a competitive offer to Thompson? What will Thompson's market look like?

Former Nets general manager and ESPN front office insider Bobby Marks joined the Morning Roast Tuesday to break it all down.

First, he discussed how Klay Thompson is viewed, and how there are only five possible teams, in Orlando, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Detroit and Utah, who have cap space to work with. Money is tight.

Marks said that prospective teams will want to know how Thompson will handle a diminished role. He said he's viewed as someone who will likely garner a two-year deal, but that if he wants the most money, it will likely be in Golden State.

"You have to be careful if you're Golden State here, because who's to say that Klay Thompson goes to sign somewhere for $13 million?" Marks said. "I mean, I wouldn't throw that out the window there. So I think the best for him to probably maximize if he's looking for another big contract, it is probably in Golden State. It is probably somewhere between maybe $20 and $25 million. It's just a matter of if that's the direction he wants to go."

But if Marks was in charge, he would let Thompson walk. The former GM thinks the Warriors should embrace the youth movement, though that may ruffle feathers.

"I would probably go, I would waive Chris at the end of the week and I would probably go in a different direction with Klay," Marks said. "And I would I would focus more on my younger players. Now what message does that send to Steph Curry or Draymond Green? I don't know. That's something that Mike's gonna have to figure out and ownership's gonna have to figure out, but if I was there, that would probably be the direction I would be leaning towards."
