NBA fans are in disbelief over what the Golden State Warriors got in return for Klay Thompson in the sign-and-trade involving the Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets.

For those who missed it, Thompson agreed to a three-year, $50 million deal to join the Mavericks . In order to facilitate the NBA free agency deal, however, it turned into a sign-and-trade with the Warriors that included the Hornets.

Charlotte got Josh Green in the deal, while Golden State received two second-round picks in return, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. Yes, that's right, not even one first-rounder came back to the Dubs in trading away their franchise legend.

That's certainly better than nothing, especially since Thompson could have simply walked away as an unrestricted free agent. Nonetheless, fans still couldn't believe that the Mavs needed just two second-rounders and Green to acquire Thompson.

"Warriors franchise might be 2nd worse ran franchise other than the Lakers," a critic wrote.

Another shocked fan said, "That’s all the Warriors got lmaoooooo." A third commenter agreed and said, "The Warriors should’ve paid Klay at this point lol."

"2 SECOND ROUND PICKS? Mikal Bridges was worth 5 1st rounders," a surprised social media user added.

"Robbery by the mavs," another commenter shared.

To be fair, since Klay Thompson was leaving no matter what, the Warriors didn't have any leverage in getting more in return for facilitating the deal. Not to mention that the Dubs are better off not getting any contract in return as they try to get more flexibility this offseason.

Still, it's not hard to see where Warriors fans are coming from considering Thompson's status as one of the best players to ever wear a Dubs jersey.
