The Jerry Stackhouse era lasted a few years at Vanderbilt before the program decided to part ways with him after the 2023-24 season. He finished with a 70-92 record overall with zero NCAA Tournament appearances.

But Stackhouse wasn’t out of a job for long and he’s heading back to the professional ranks.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski , Stackhouse is expected to join Steve Kerr’s Golden State Warriors staff. He’s one of two assistants to be hired to Kerr’s staff for the upcoming season. They will also hire Terry Stotts as lead assistant coach after having to fill two vacancies this offseason.

Stackhouse reportedly interviewed for the Charlotte Hornets’ open head coaching job before it went to Charles Lee.

The 49-year-old Stackhouse previously spent three seasons coaching with the Toronto Raptors including two with their G League affiliate. He was an assistant on J.B. Bickerstaff’s staff with the Memphis Grizzlies. From there he took the head coaching job with Vanderbilt.

After playing at North Carolina, Stackhouse had a long NBA career before retiring in 2013. He was a two-time All-Star.
