The Philadelphia 76ers and the Golden State Warriors began talks on a sign-and-trade deal in recent days to send Buddy Hield to The Bay. The Sixers acquired Hield from the Indiana Pacers at the deadline as they expected to add him to Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

Unfortunately, the Hield acquisition didn’t work out the way they had hoped. President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey admitted that the Hield addition didn’t work out the way he had hoped after the Round 1 elimination loss.

Now, Hield will head to the Warriors. In return, the Sixers will get a 2031 second-round pick via the Dallas Mavericks.

In 32 games for the Sixers after the trade, Hield averaged 12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. He shot 38.9% from deep on 6.6 attempts, but he struggled at times to find his rhythm.

Now, he will look to find it again with the Warriors. The good news for the Sixers is they are able to get something in return for him.
