Klay Thompson’s split with the Golden State Warriors continues to be the talk of the basketball world. On Friday, Thompson added another emotional twist to this offseason saga when he shared an incredibly emotional post on social media to say goodbye to the only team he’s played for so far in his legendary NBA career.

Of course, that message has gathered a ton of reaction from fans and basketball personalities alike, including New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu.

    "Warrior for life!" commented Ionescu.

Ionescu grew up in the Bay Area as a big fan of Stephen Curry and the Warriors, so Thompson's departure from Golden State is something that resonates with her.

Thompson is taking his talents to Texas after agreeing to a three-year deal worth $50 million with the Dallas Mavericks, thus ending his run with the Dubs.

He was selected 11th overall in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Warriors and has since transformed into one of the best shooters the league has ever seen.

Thompson played a major role in the Warriors' dominance in the past several years, winning four NBA championships and earning five NBA All-Star nods during his unforgettable stint with Golden State. He averaged 19.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 41.3 percent from range as a Warrior.
