Kevin Durant Used Three Words To Describe Klay Thompson's Warriors Career

After 13 years with the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson is on to a new chapter of his NBA career after agreeing to a three-year, $50 million deal with the Dallas Mavericks as part of a sign-and-trade.

On Friday, Thompson, who is likely to have his jersey retired by the Warriors, left a thoughtful farewell to Golden State on his social media account.

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for the best times of my life... My family and I would like to thank all of the amazing people who work tirelessly to make the Warriors organization world-class. Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy it happened. Until we meet again. Sea captain out."

One player who responded to Thompson's post that stood out was his former Warriors teammate and current Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant. In his reply, Durant only needed three words to describe Klay's Warriors career: "Bay Area God."

"A Bay Area God. One chapter closes, another one opens. Keep doing u champ," Durant commented.

Thompson and Durant won two NBA Championships together in 2017 and 2018. Many fans speculate that Durant's departure from Golden State in 2019 was caused by some issues he had with the team. Durant went on to play for the Brooklyn Nets before being traded to Phoenix.

Thompson, along with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, helped the Warriors build one of the best dynasties the league has ever seen. They won four NBA Finals together, including the two with Durant, and left their marks on the Warriors and the NBA's history.
