Kevin Durant Pens Emotional Tribute to Klay Thompson's Farewell to Warriors Fans

They weren't together for a long time, but the seasons that they spent playing with each other certainly were memorable.

Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson won two championships together with the Golden State Warriors before Durant left to be the man on his own team with the Brooklyn Nets. While they were together in Golden State, though, they were part of what is considered one of the best teams in the history of the NBA.

Now, with Thompson leaving the Warriors for the Dallas Mavericks, Durant is paying tribute to his old teammate on social media.

Thompson penned a goodbye to Warriors fans on social media Friday afternoon, to which Durant left a heartfelt comment.

Durant knows as well as anyone that an NBA career comes in chapters, and even if you leave one team, that doesn't mean the next chapter can't be promising for you.

Thompson will now join Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in Dallas, playing for the defending Western Conference Champions in 2024 with hopes of making it back to the NBA Finals and winning a fifth ring.
