    Electric scooter sparks blaze in San Francisco apartment building

    SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — San Francisco firefighters responded to a fire Monday burning inside an apartment at the top of a four-story apartment building. The cause of the fire was determined to be from an electric scooter that was charging, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

    The apartment is located at 60 Leavenworth Street. The fire, which broke out before noon, was contained within one unit on the fourth floor, SFFD said.

    According to SFFD, more than 45 firefighters worked to contain the fire, which was under control by 12:26 p.m.

    The fire department said one adult suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. Three adults have been displaced due to the fire.

    “The cause of this fire was an electric scooter that was charging at the time of the fire,” SFFD wrote on X .

    The fire department asked residents to avoid the area as crews were on scene.
