    Here's what's happening during Skate Week SF

    Skate Week San Francisco, a six-day celebration of roller and inline skating kicks off Tuesday night, and there's lots to do.

    Why it matters: The event celebrates 45 years since the birth of the Golden Gate Park Skate Patrol, which prevented the activity from being banned in the park.


    What's next: Brush off your skates and get ready to roll at Church of 8 Wheels Golden Gate, located in the Presidio.

    Come dressed in red and white to celebrate the kickoff of Skate Week SF.

    A night of love, inclusion and roller skating in the Presidio near the Golden Gate Bridge.

    Embrace your inner goth for a night of "dark and daring skating" featuring spooky tunes.

    Dress in your best disco attire and "get ready to glide through the night for a funky good time."

    🎡 The Hip-Hop Finale

    The Godfather of Skate, DJ Miles, will spin tracks to close out the week with funk and hip-hop.

    Head over to Golden Gate Park's Skatin' Place to watch an exhibition of talented skaters show off their moves.

    • Sunday from 2-4pm, with a special visit from Mayor London Breed at 3pm.
