SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — San Francisco’s newest park will soon be getting its own food hall. Known as “The Mess Hall,” the food hall is coming soon to Presidio Tunnel Tops, a park that opened two years ago atop the Presidio Parkway tunnels near Crissy Field.

The Mess Hall, according to an announcement on the Presidio Tunnel Tops website , will be the park’s “only all-day cafe, bar, food hall and retail market.” The culinary side of the food hall will be spearheaded by James Beard-awarded Chef Peter Serpico.

The Mess Hall will feature “multiple and distinctive food concepts” with a “commitment to satisfying the diverse palates of Presidio residents and visitors.” Options on offer will range from fast-casual made-to-order meals, grab-&-go prepared options, and a provisions market with local specialties, import items, and picnic options.

There will also be a bar curated by Zach Negin of Tabula Rasa Bar, Shop LA and Silverlake Lounge fame. The Mess Hall’s Bar will offer “a meticulously crafted menu featuring an array of cocktails, mocktails, craft beers, and thoughtfully produced wines from around the world.”

"We're delighted to welcome our new tenant, The Mess Hall at the Presidio," said Daryl Ansel, director of hospitality & business development for the Presidio Trust. "They're offering such a diverse range of food and drink options, which is perfect since our research showed a strong desire for a social gathering space at the Presidio Tunnel Tops, and a food hall/market was a top choice."

The Mess Hall will occupy a space located at 201 Halleck Street. According to a real estate listing, it features a 6,200-square foot interior, 2,700 square feet of outdoor patio space, and views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of Fine Arts, Alcatraz, Treasure Island and downtown SF.

The Mess Hall is slated to open at the park in 2025.
