Ex-Saints superstar is available; Could 49ers sign if Brandon Aiyuk is traded?

If you have been following news across the National Football League, you probably already know what's going on with the San Francisco 49ers.

San Francisco is one of the most well-built rosters in football and has a real chance of making it back to the Super Bowl in 2024. While this is the case, one of the team's top playmakers may not be with the team for much longer.

49ers star receiver Brandon Aiyuk recently requested a trade and it's unclear if it will be fulfilled . Aiyuk has developed into one of the top receivers in football and losing him would be disappointing.

It wouldn't be devastating though, as the 49ers are loaded all throughout the offense. Plus, the 49ers could look to add in free agency to help replace Aiyuk.

One player who still is available and could be a viable option is former New Orleans Saints superstar Michael Thomas.

Thomas has dealt with injuries over the last few years but seemingly is okay right now and is looking for his next opportunity. He may not be the top receiver in football like he was at one point, but he could be a good depth option to help in the middle of the field.

Hopefully, the 49ers don't need to make a decision like this. Hopefully, the 49ers can agree to terms on a deal with Aiyuk and everything works out with him. If they do end up trading him, though, San Francisco should give Thomas a call.
