According to a recently submitted permit application, Berkeley Organic Market’s deli counter is now home to the Brazilian-inspired concept Casa Do Petisco .

Co-owner Barbara Nogueira describes her plans in the filing: “My wife and I are co-owners of Nogueira & Diehr, LLC, and we have partnered with Berkeley Organic Market to manage and operate the Deli Counter of their grocery store.”

Additionally, she shares that Casa do Petisco will “offer Brazilian-inspired sandwiches, cheese bread, and empanadas” — and co-owner Christene Diehr tells What Now San Francisco that they’ve ordered a specialty machine from Brazil to prepare coxinhas, a type of croquette.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Berkeley Organic Market , the organic food store is known by locals for its selection of gourmet and local products and gluten-free supplies. At 2642 Ashby Avenue , the establishment is neighbor to eateries such as Badan, Cafenated Coffee Company, and Humbowl.

    Stay tuned for updates.
