San Francisco Giants designated hitter Jorge Soler (2) celebrates his solo home run in the first inning against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

On Sunday against the Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants designated hitter Jorge Soler led off with a boom.

At the top of the first inning, Soler hit a 94 mph sinker from Rockies pitcher Ryan Feltner for a 478-foot home run. According to MLB's X account, the moonshot was the farthest homer of the season.

For context, Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna registered the farthest homer (473 feet) in the 2024 Home Run Derby, via NBC Sports Bay Area.

Unsurprisingly, the monstrous dinger was at Coors Field, one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks in the majors due to its altitude (5,280 feet) .

Soler is in a slump this season, as he has posted the second-lowest batting average (.225) of his career through 85 games. But a solid showing vs. Colorado may help him regain mojo. The former All-Star and two-time World Series champion went 2-for-4 in the 3-2 win.
