Popular Asia-based toy store opens first San Francisco location

SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — One of the most famous toy companies is opening a store in San Francisco later this month. POP MART is opening a location at the Stonestown Galleria this Saturday, July 27, the company announced in a news release.

The store, located at 3251 20th Ave., will be POP MART’s 11th brick-and-mortar location in the United States . It will be the second store to open in the Bay Area and fifth in California. Last December, POP MART opened a store inside Westfield’s Valley Fair mall.

The POP MART at Stonestown’s grand opening is on July 27. Hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There are currently two “ROBO SHOP” locations, which is a vending machine that sells select POP MART items, inside the mall.

POP MART opened its first store in Beijing back in 2010. The first U.S. store opened last August at American Dream Mall in New Jersey.

It has since opened more than 450 stores in more than 30 countries and has opened more than 2,300 Robo Shops. POP MART has amassed nearly 560,000 followers on its Instagram page .
