SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — An adult male victim was killed in a shooting in the Mission District on Wednesday, the San Francisco Police Department said. There was a heavy police presence in the area of 16th Street and Mission Street after the shooting. The scene is now clear.

The San Francisco Police Department responded to the scene at 5:41 p.m. and located a man with gunshot wounds. He was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and later died, police said.

The activity was impacting traffic and Muni routes in the area. The 14, 14R, 33 and 49 buses were blocked at that intersection.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with “SFPD.”
