Robbie Ray returned to the mound on Wednesday night for the first time in more than a year. Though his strange no-hitter bid came up short, Ray successfully led the San Francisco Giants to an 8-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ray threw five innings, had eight strikeouts and, despite the fact that he allowed a run in a wild first inning, didn’t give up a single hit in the win.
SF Voters To Decide on Extra Pay For Veteran Cops Amid Shortage
Voters are getting a say in San Francisco’s police staffing crisis. The department is short 500 officers, leading to daily overtime. One solution is to have some postpone their retirement by paying them 600 thousand to three-million dollars a year. The Board of Supervisors approved putting that measure on the November ballot. Veteran officers would be eligible to stay up to five years starting next July.
