2 found dead in vehicle on Highway 99 off-ramp in Stanislaus County; investigation underway
SALIDA – A Highway 99 off-ramp in Stanislaus County is expected to be closed for most of Sunday night after two people were found dead in a vehicle, the California Highway Patrol says. Officers responded to reports of a possible assault at about 6 p.m. on the northbound Highway 99 off-ramp at Hammett Road. When at the scene, officers found a man and woman dead in a Honda sedan parked on the shoulder, the CHP said. They have not been identified at this time. A preliminary investigation indicates it may have stemmed from a domestic violence incident earlier in the day, officers said. The Hemmett Road off-ramp is likely to stay closed for most of the night. This is in northern Salida. Officers said there is no lingering threat to the public. Anyone with information is urged to contact the CHP - Modesto unit.

Woman wanted for stealing vehicle, items from Fresno store, police say
FRESNO, Calif. ( ) – The Fresno Police Department is asking the public to help identify a woman who stole a vehicle and several items from a liquor store in Fresno in April. Police say on April 22, a stolen vehicle was seen arriving at the Redwave Liquor Store at 2633 East Shaw Avenue. A female was seen exiting the vehicle, going into the store, and then later driving away.

Local brewers were competing for the title of IPA champion.The Central Valley Brewers Guild IPA Throwdown was held at Summer Fox Brewing Company in Northwest Fresno.Thirteen breweries from across the valley brought out their best IPAs to compete.There were blind flight tastings and voting.Regardless of the friendly competition, the Central Valley Brewers Guild says this was a way for industry brewers to share their craft.''We really do care and we love what we do, and we love it when people enjoy it. Community cleans up in southeast Fresno as part of 'Beautify Fresno'
The community took action over the weekend to help keep our neighborhoods clean.About 60 people signed up to help pick up trash in southeast Fresno as part of a Beautify Fresno event.Volunteers cleaned up the Jackson neighborhood along Mono Avenue on Saturday.The event provides participants with safety vests, gloves, trash bags, snacks, and water.There have been over 400 cleanup events since Mayor Jerry Dyer started Beautify Fresno.The next cleanup day is the Mayor's Citywide Community Cleanup Day on August 3.You can register for the event here.
