History comes to life in Greenlawn Cemetery
The 11th annual Dining with the Dead is coming up fasty, and tickets will sell out faster, according to event organizer Jill McQueary. “We sell out every year,” said McQueary, who brought the event to Farmington’s Rio del Sol Kiwanis Club as a fundraising activity for the club’s Coats for Kids, Clothes for Kids and Shoes for Kids.

Young driver faced with road rage, allegedly struck by semi
A young man learning to drive had a frightening experience this week, when his car was struck by a semitrailer in an alleged incident of road rage. The youth was driving with his mother about 3:25 p.m. July 24 on County Road 3000 when a Farmington man driving a semitrailer allegedly struck the car and acted threateningly toward them.
Man with history of crime reportedly stabs three people, including his uncle
A Farmington man with a lengthy criminal record is in the San Juan County Detention Center after reportedly stabbing three people within a week. Jordan Keith Armijo, 53, has been charged with second-degree attempted murder and two counts of third-degree felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in connection to three stabbings. The first was July 15 at the Broadway Speedway; the second, July 22 on the Berg Park Riverwalk behind the Red Lion Inn; and the third, at a home in the 1400 block of York Avenue.
USDA extends D-SNAP program to over 25k households

Residents of Lincoln, Otero, Rio Arriba and San Juan counties and the Mescalero Apache Reservation, who applied for FEMA disaster assistance following the South Fork and Salt fires and flooding in New Mexico, should be aware that FEMA may call from unfamiliar area codes and phone numbers or show no caller ID.
