    Four arrested in San Juan gambling raid

    SAN JUAN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Four people have been arrested in a San Juan illegal gambling raid.

    At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office Investigators executed a search warrant at Quinta Ximena, which is located at 4600 block of S. Stewart Rd. in San Juan for illegal gambling.

    Once inside, authorities found 77 disabled gambling machines with an undetermined amount of money.

    Four employees were detained and later arrested on the following charges: keeping a gambling place, possession of gambling device/equipment, gambling promotion, engaged in organized criminal activity.

    Those arrested were Frida Sanchez, 21, Fatima Hernandez, 21, Jordi Alejandro Gonzalez, 33, and Fernando Arteaga, 47.

    Additionally, Gonzalez was also charged with evading arrest on foot and resisting arrest.

    This is an ongoing investigation.
