Heat wave may cause emergency power shut off in parts of SLO County

Approximately 2,300 PG&E customers in San Luis Obispo County could be impacted

– Some rural residents in San Luis Obispo County may experience power outages during a heat wave expected to hit California this week. The San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services announced that PG&E has identified an increased risk of a Public Safety Power Shutoff for some North County residents starting Friday.

The areas that may face power shutoffs include Oak Shores, parts of Heritage Ranch, and certain regions north and east of San Miguel, such as Indian Valley, Hog Canyon, and Ranchita Canyon, as reported by the Office of Emergency Services.

Approximately 2,300 PG&E customers in San Luis Obispo County could be impacted. The potential power outage may begin between 10:30 a.m. and noon on Friday and continue through Saturday at 10 p.m.
