Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, 82, was located early Monday hours after he apparently wandered away from his San Marino home.

San Marino Police Chief John Incontro said Baca was found in an El Monte restaurant and identified with the help of a bracelet he wears. He was found at around 12:30 a.m.

Baca suffered no injuries, Incontro said. "He seemed to be in good spirits."

KNX News' Karen Adams reported Baca has Alzheimer's disease. He served three years in federal prison in the 2014 corruption scandal involving the L.A. County jail system.

The San Marino Police Department was heading the search for Baca, LASD Dep. V. Rodriguez told City News Service.

The department was assisted in the search by several nearby departments and the sheriff's missing persons detectives, Incontro said.

Baca served as Los Angeles County Sheriff from 1998 to 2014.
