The president of the Richmond police union has been appointed to the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training by Gov. Gavin Newsom. 52-Year-Old Man Dies After Striking Cement Pillar on Jackson Street in Hayward
Last Friday, a single-vehicle collision tragically culminated in the death of a 52-year-old man at the intersection of Jackson Street, east of Diadon Drive in Hayward. According to the Hayward Police Department, the man was driving eastbound on Jackson Street around 1:40 p.m. when his vehicle veered off the road and struck a cement pillar. Arriving officers found the driver with major injuries still at the scene.
