Candidates begin filing for Copperas Cove Nov. 5 elections
The filing period opened on Saturday ahead of the Nov. 5, 2024 general election in Copperas Cove. Local elected office positions on the ballot include two places on the Copperas Cove Independent School District board of trustees, as well as Places 1 and 2 on the Copperas Cove city council, and mayor.

Marble Falls Triathlon testing lake waters for swim portion
The 22nd annual Marble Falls Triathlon set for Sunday, July 28, might become a two-event race, rather than three. Organizer Soler’s Sports is waiting for lake-water test results due from the city on Saturday to decide if it is safe for swimmers. Strong currents after recent storms have already affected the direction of the swim.

CCISD holding enrollment center at high school
Copperas Cove High School has been the one-stop place for student enrollment this week. Families of students from prekindergarten through high school were able to stop by the high school cafeteria to be directed to representatives from their individual schools who would help them through the process of enrolling and answer any questions they might have. This year they also offered a special shot clinic to help make sure students were up to date on all required shots. There were also people on hand to help with figuring out transportation, behavioral support services, and understanding the learning apps that the school uses. They also had representatives from the Boys & Girls of Copperas Cove at the event.
