Readers rejoice: a used book sale is coming up at the San Tan Valley Library.

The Friends of the San Tan Valley Library’s “March Madness for Book Lovers” runs from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 23 at the San Tan Valley Library, 31505 N. Schnepf Road.

The fundraising sale will feature a wide selection of gently used books in many different genres including fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, DVDs and music CDs. Hardcovers and softcovers will be available, as well as a variety of collectors’ books.

“We have a great selection of books for people to choose from. Prices will be very reasonable, and all funds will directly benefit the library’s programs, services and resources for the community,” stated Rosalie Turner, president of the Friends of the San Tan Valley Library, in a press release. "Think of us as your favorite local bookstore, and every cent you spend comes right back to benefit the community.”

“March Madness for Book Lovers” will be set up in the library’s Bronze Room. Books will be sorted and stacked by category for easy shopping. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend the sale.

Attendees who purchase a book can donate it to Military Moms in Queen Creek/San Tan Valley.  The donated books will be given to the San Tan Valley Veterans' Center and will be free for veterans, military families and the community.

The Friends of the San Tan Valley Library is an all-volunteer organization that supports literacy and library programming. The Friends are asking for volunteers to help with various aspects of the book sale. Opportunities include setting up the event, assisting customers, and cleaning up after the sale.

"We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Friends of the Library for their invaluable support, and we acknowledge the importance of sustaining and replenishing their funds as they continue to uphold their dedication to our library,” stated Gloria Moreno, manager of the San Tan Valley Library, in the release. “As all proceeds benefit the library, the upcoming book sale presents a fantastic chance for our community to unite, participate and actively contribute toward the continued prosperity of our programs and enduring enrichment of our local library."
