New Mexico man dies in motorcycle crash in Texas panhandle, police say
GAINES, Texas — A 57-year-old man from Hobbs, New Mexico, died in a motorcycle crash on Nadine Road near the state line, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The incident occurred on August 17, 2024, at approximately 9:28 PM. The preliminary investigation revealed that Robert James Gibson was traveling westbound on Nadine Road on a 2013 Harley Davidson Street Glide. Gibson was reportedly driving at a speed unsafe for the curve in the roadway, causing the motorcycle to veer off into the north barrow ditch and roll over.
